A short list keeps the talk calm and useful:

• What base and thickness do you plan for my soil and climate?
• How will you handle slope and drainage?
• Where will joints go, and why?
• How do you cure and protect the surface in dry air and strong sun?
• What is included in the quote, and what could change it?
• What licenses or insurance apply, and can I see proof?

Compare written quotes

Ask for the price in writing. Line up two or three quotes and look at the details, not just the total. Thickness, reinforcement, demolition, sealing and cleanup can all change the cost. A much lower number may leave something out.
